The 68th Annual Congressional Dinner was held on February 8, 2012 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC.
The Foundation’s Annual Congressional Dinner is a premier fundraising event featuring representatives from the Washington media, political leaders, and other luminaries. Traditionally held in winter, the event honors the accomplishments of distinguished journalists, raises funds for internships and scholarships, and brings together newsmakers and reporters for an evening of good-natured camaraderie.

This year's event featured master of ceremonies Dana Milbank and speakers Representative Linda Sanchez of California, Representative Billy Long of Missouri and Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire. Special guests included House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, John Cornyn, Chairman NRSC, Charles Schumer, D-NY and John Carter R-TX. Edith Lederer, reporter for Associated Press received the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award. Karoun DeMirjian received the 2011 David Lynch Award for Regional Reporting.
